How do you summarize a life? How do you sum up how someone lived? Or how do you remember them?

Jeff Klein  0:14

Well, I had to do this last Saturday evening as we memorialized my Dad and remembered him - his 91 years of lif  lived here on planet Earth. I can tell you, as I and others spoke about him, no one really talked about the job he had, how well he did at his job or the positions he held. No one talked about how much money he made, how big his house was, how many cars he had or how many things he accumulated. People talked about the way he treated other people. They talked about the way he loved his family and about the way he took care of his disabled son. They talked about how when they were around him, they felt love, respect and kindness.

Jeff Klein  1:04

So, it seems like the things we spend our lives on are really important and the way we treat other people may be the most important thing of all. You know, the Bible gives those two greatest commands: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. It seems that those two things are connected to each other in the sense that the way we love God (or how much we love God) is reflected in how well we love other people. My dad - I'm proud to say - was a lover of people. They experienced and felt God's love through the way that he treated them. So today, who can you treat well? How can you make an eternal stamp in your life (one that would be remembered) by the way you treat and love someone you meet along the way today.
