Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's Daily Dose in the Word of God. It's Monday, September 29 and this is Jeff Klein, reminding you to take your faith Beyond Sunday and into the week.

In Romans 16: 5 Paul greets his dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia. I love that Paul knows this - that an entire legacy of faith in one of the largest regions of the world began with one man. Think for a moment about where you live - your neighborhood, your town or city, your workplace, your travel Sports - who there could be the first to follow Christ and begin a movement? How does that change how you view your neighborhood? What if we all started seeing where we lived as mission fields, praying for an Epenetus to have a revelation of Christ. What if we were praying for the beginning of change?

Sometimes the work of God seems overwhelming. Is there anything one person can do? Paul shared his faith story with just one man, and because he did, the gospel spread throughout an entire region. Who is your Epenetus?

Let's pray. Lord Jesus, motivate us, move us, open our eyes, open our ears and open our insight to find the Epenetus in our neighborhood. Jesus, give us your Holy Spirit's power as we go. In your name we pray, amen.
