Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. It's Wednesday, November 13. This is Kyle Olson, and I serve here as the Technical Director at Elmhurst CRC.

It's the season of green and growing things and hearts ablaze because God is on a mission to keep us growing up in and out. Today's reading is from Exodus 40: 34- 38 voice translation.

"At that moment, a cloud blanketed the congregation tent, and the glory of the eternal filled the sanctuary. Moses could not even go into the congregation tent because the cloud had enveloped it, and the glory of the eternal filled the sanctuary through all their wanderings in the desert. Whenever the cloud lifted up from the congregation tent, the Israelites would break camp and set out, but when the cloud covered the tent, they remained where they were and did not set out, until, once again, the cloud lifted through all their wanderings. The cloud of the eternal stood over the congregation tent during the day and at night, fire was lit for all the community of Israel to see."

Let's pray, Lord, thank You for Your word. Thank you for your signs and wonders. Thank you for the glory of the morning and the wonder of the night, Lord, we confess that sometimes our faith can become stagnant. We want to see dramatic things. We want to see your glory, filling the sanctuary, filling our lives, lighting up those next steps. So remind us, Lord, that more often than not, you speak in the quiet, in the silence, in whispers. Every now and then, we can witness dramatic things that change our perspective and reveal more than we bargained for, a call to look inward, to look up, and to reach out. And so we ask Lord today that you move in all of those ways, dramatic, Quiet, but steady, consistent venture in your name, Amen.
