Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose the Word of God. It's Wednesday, July 10, it's the season of green and growing things, including our spiritual lives. The Summer, we are sitting at Jesus's feet and listening to his parables, stories that shed meaning on our lives. My name is Kyle Olson and I serve here as the Technical Director at Elmhurst CRC. I'll be reading from The Voice translation of Luke 6, verses 43 through 45.

Count on this: no good tree bears bad fruit, and no bad tree bears good fruit. You can know a tree by the fruit it bears. You don’t find figs on a thorn bush, and you can’t pick grapes from a briar bush. It’s the same with people. A person full of goodness in his heart produces good things; a person with an evil reservoir in his heart pours out evil things. The heart overflows in the words a person speaks; your words reveal what’s within your heart.

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for your wisdom. And thank you for your Son. As we seek your will and your way, help us to bear good fruit. Help us to reject the evil in the world and the evil reservoir (possibly) in our own hearts so that we may be redeemed by your grace and mercy. Let us be people that bear good fruit so that we may give glory to you for everything that we do. In your name, Amen.
