Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. It's Wednesday, September 13 and Sunday's coming. This week, we will be climbing the ladder of faith with an emphasis on the letter A, which signifies adoption. I'll be reading from The Voice translation of Ephesians 1, verses 11 and 12.

In him we stand to inherit even more. As his heirs, we are predestined to play a key role in his unfolding purpose that is energizing everything to conform to his will. As a result - we the first to place our hope in the anointed one- will live in a way to bring him glory and praise.

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for the good news of our salvation given to us by your grace and mercy. Lord, we try to live to give glory and praise to you. But we fall so often. So we ask for your help, for your Holy Spirit and your guidance. We ask you to light up that next step that we're supposed to take. We don't know all of your plans, but we know that you are for us and not against us. And so we thank you for that. In your name, Amen.
