Kara Hackert 0:06
Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. Today is Friday, September 1, and I'm Kara Hackert. This week, we're going to mind the gap between what we know and what we do with what we know. Today we're gonna look at Isaiah 55, verses 10 and 11.
Kara Hackert 0:24
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Kara Hackert 0:50
This passage is like a poem and a promise all in one. God's word is powerful, alive and strong. Just as God sends down the rain to water the earth and make new life grow. So he sends out his word to accomplish what he says he will do. He gives life and He will never fail. He will never break his promises to us. He promised Jesus our Savior, the Word made flesh. He is faithful and good.
Kara Hackert 1:20
Let's pray together. Dear Heavenly Father, you are good and faithful God; you always keep your promises. We know that you're working all things out for our good and your glory. When things don't go our way, when we stumble, and we're feeling anxious and worried, help us to trust in your word and your promises. Help us remember and know that you will never fail us. Thank you for hope in life in you, Amen.
