Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God.  It's Friday, June 2 and Sunday's comin'.  This is Sheri Van Spronsen Leppink, and I'll be reading the final read of the week from the NIV, or New International Version, translation of Romans 8, verses 1 through 4.

Sheri Van Spronsen Leppink 0:25

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Let's pray. Dear God, thank you for forgiving our sins. So, so many of them, we ask for your guidance and strength to resist the allure of temptations. Be with us and keep our eyes focused on the spirit, not on things of the world. Let us live a life worthy of no condemnation and be a light to others Amen.
