Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. It's April 17 it's the season of Easter and we're walking the Emmaus road with Jesus. I'm Kyle Olson and I serve here as the Technical Director at Elmhurst CRC. I'll be reading from Luke chapter 24, verses 30 and 31.

Kyle Olson  0:38

When they sit down at the table for dinner, he takes the bread in his hands, he gives thanks for it and then he breaks it and hands it to them. At that instant, two things happen simultaneously - their eyes are suddenly opened, so they recognize him. And he instantly vanishes - just disappears - before their eyes.

Kyle Olson  1:03

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for your amazing work, healing, resurrection, revealing and ascension that we get to witness through the words of the Bible. Lord, on our own walks of faith, we pray that you will walk next to us - no, you ARE walking next to us. We pray that we can see you and that we can feel you and that we can be a witness to you walking next to us. Lord we confess that sometimes when we do get to see you, it is just like the story - we recognize it and then instantly you're gone and we forget. Lord, I pray that we can keep that vision alive, that we can keep seeing you, keep being guided by you so that we can keep following you. Bless the walk ahead for us, amen.
