Kyle Olson  0:05

Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose of the Word of God. It is March 20th (Wednesday!), it's the season of Lent and we're walking with Jesus. My name is Kyle Olson and I serve here as the Technical Director at ECRC. I'll be reading from The Voice translation of Luke 19, verses 37 through 40.

Kyle Olson  0:31

When they passed the crest of Mount Olivet and began descending toward Jerusalem, a huge crowd of disciples began to celebrate and praise God with loud shouts, glorifying God for the mighty works they had witnessed. The King who comes in the name of the Eternal One is blessed! Peace in heaven! Glory in the highest!  Pharisees (who were in the crowd): Teacher, tell these people to stop making these wild claims and acting this way! Jesus: Listen—if they were silent, the very rocks would start to shout!

Kyle Olson 1:12

Let's pray. Lord, thank you for your word and thank you for your walk on this very earth. We also thank you for this story where you enter Jerusalem and all of the people are shouting your name, shouting your title as king. Lord, may you help us praise your name like these people do. We know that in just a few days after this, things will not be looking as well - people will be shouting your name in mockery. So we ask you, Lord: in these times of division, help us to say your name with glory, to shout it out to the heavens and to all who can hear before we know when we don't. We can see your work, your evidence and your glory in the very nature around us. It shouts out to us your name and we thank you for that. Amen.
