Welcome to Elmhurst CRC's daily dose in the Word of God. It's Monday, March 4. This is Jeff Klein with your weekly reminder to move your faith Beyond Sunday.

Jeff Klein  0:25

I know an environmental compliance engineer at Fermilab in Batavia where work is focused on atomic particle acceleration and the building blocks of the universe - heavy stuff. Terry has been there for 20 years as a follower of Jesus, in a place with lots of smart people who have their scientific doubts about God. That hasn't held Terry back. She believes God placed her in this context for more than work. About 10 years ago, she started a Bible exploration group with a few other scientists who were Christians there. They encouraged anyone to come and explore their questions about God. Terry's also managed to convince human resources to sponsor serve projects for the local community under the guise of creating a positive culture in the workplace. Along the way, she's had the privilege of seeing a number of colleagues accept the Lord.

At this past year's Christmas party, a man who Terry recognized staggered up and said, "Hey, aren't you that Bible lady?" Terry acknowledged that she was and this led to a conversation about the man's marriage and his dissatisfaction with life in general. He eventually joined the Bible exploration group and gave his life to Christ. In 1 Corinthians 5, Paul tells us that we are Christ's ambassadors and says it's as if God is making his appeal through us. So, the question on this Monday morning: where has God placed you? Where do you go each day where you encounter people who don't know Jesus? Who in your workplace, in your gym, on your kids travel sports sidelines - who needs you, to be Christ's ambassador for them?

Let's pray. Jesus, help us to get out of our seats. Give us the courage to step out and speak about the amazing things you've done for us. Give us the strategy, the eyes to see those around us who need to hear this message that you have poured into our lives. Jesus, give us the Holy Spirit motivation to be your ambassadors in the world. In your name we pray, amen.
